How to approach it
The wording does two things at once: it asks for a physical object and then removes the most obvious way of naming one. So the useful move is to ignore titles entirely and think in terms of function. Sweep domains one at a time — household administration, employment, law, medicine, transport, religion, hobbies, publishing, finance — and in each ask what paper object exists solely because someone has to record, prove, instruct or hand something over. Write down every candidate in plain descriptive form, then test it against the exclusion: if the phrase only means something with a specific title attached, it is out. Quantity matters early, but the score rewards the candidates that are real yet rarely said, so keep digging past the first ten obvious ones.
Get a hint
Start with the paper that exists because a procedure demands it: something issued to a person, kept by an organization or passed between hands at a counter.
A little more
Then widen to the publishing world, where the same physical form carries fiction, reference and instruction — think of the shape of the object rather than of any title on its cover.
One step further
Finally push into the odd corners: hobby and craft ephemera, ceremonial and religious volumes, specialist professional paperwork, and throwaway items printed for a single event.

Why these answers count
The scoring tracks obscurity within a very broad category, and the reveal shows it clearly. The single hundred-point answer, Summit register, is a genuine paper object that almost nobody thinks of outside mountaineering, so it sits alone at the top. The eighty-five-point band is where specialized vocabulary pays: Abstract of title, Aircraft checklist or Approach plates all describe real physical documents from narrow professional worlds, and each is precise enough that only someone who knows that world would produce it. Below that, the sixty-point tier is stuffed with the first things a player reaches for — the ordinary volumes and forms that any household or office could name in seconds. Nothing in the middle is wrong; the difference is entirely how quickly a typical player gets there. Rarity, not correctness, is what moves a valid answer up the board.
